Traditional Afghan clothes vary by regions and ethnicities/tribes.
This hat is called a 'Pakol'. It comes from a region of Afghanistan called Nuristan. The Pakol was worn by the Afghan Mujahideen who fought against the Soviet invasion, and today, they are worn by the forces of the United Front (Alliance).
The country's traditional male clothing usually includes a Lungee (turban).
Chapan's (a type of coat) are also traditionally worn.
Women wear the 'Chadri', which covers them from head to foot. It has not been legally required since 1968 however.
